| I aint been to a race meet in years , the track was really freeken good and you start to think daam this is fun n cool ,then you're kwikly reminded why racing never gets the attention it deserves - Bmx Aust , U.C.I. pople who mean well but have no idea how to market it to the youth and are still stuck 20 years back in time.The actual event clothing for sale was the worst stuff ive seen. The riders deserve so much more. But the racing was dope! Elite booth manned by grant and Paul had everything a racer could want , the Japanes crew had a cool ass zip hood that i forgot to take a photo of, the one pictured was just a random one i spotted .Sean i owe you $4 bucks or a coffee.On another note Adelaide taxi drivers ...... our 1st driver was a classic, we were hes first job ever on his 1st day!-need i say more?? Our second driver was the self proclaimed best rapper-"no one can beat me " he was in the running for mono brow of the year a west indian/american who raps were like "Yo -cat,mat,raingoes splat" and who also nearly got us T-boned by another car and finally our last Mario brother midget who we dind't really understand at all. Strictly BMX team member Khalen Young dominated his moto's at the World titles in Adelaide on the weekend, as he moved into his 1/8th Finals and 1/4 Finals Khalen's domination continued with him placing first in both. However during his semi final, things got chaotic in the first corner with a major pile up taking out 5 of the 8 riders including Khalen! Once the dust had settled, Khalen was first up back on his bike and was chased by the rest of the field to the line for the last qualifying position. Come World Championship final time, Khalen was on the far outside with fellow Australian Luke Madill, when the gate dropped Khalen found it difficult to get across and was held out high on the first turn allowing the rest of the field to get the inside run. Khalen was'nt able to make up enough ground from there and finished up with 8th position. Still a huge effort to finish number 8 in the world in Elite/Pro Class, so congratulations to Khalen! |

What a weekend for HRVfitness. The team did a great job and represented against the top riders in the world. Madison Denholm did well and made it through to the semi finals. Olivier Hoarau stepped up this year as he raced his first world titles in the Elite Men’s class. The big guy did a great job but only got as far as the quarter finals. Tony HRV Harvey managed to make it to the semi finals in the Masters class and exploded down the third straight, so he had to settle for a top 16 finish. But the little man, Jaden Rice did a fantastic job as he was out to better his performance from last year. Jaden finished up with number 5 in the world. Great job! HRV HRVMYSPACE |

In 2007 Khalen moved to The USA with like many had the hopes to make a career racing BMX.

Last month I had the opportunity to escape Melbourne winter for a couple of weeks & go to Scotland for our good friend Mike Ellingtons wedding. Mike runs 20Twentystore.com which is one of the best BMX stores in the UK as well as being a full time fireman. Busy dude for sure! & also one of the coolest people you could ever meet. Mike & his new wife Jill celebrated at a crazy private estate with a bunch of BMXers on hand including BSD headhoncho Grant Smith, Zeal distros James Hitchcox, 338 OG/front brake master Neil Keddie & Livi legend David Frame. Photo duties were handled by Fred Murray from Dig Magazine so you know the official wedding shots are wayyy more dialled than the rat snap of the pre honeymoon couple above. Congrats!! |

Without a doubt the raddest BMX related video clip in a good while...... The Worlds was held over last weekend in Cologne, Germany. Although the weather was pretty bad, there was still a lot of memorable BMX action. Highlight for most was the Haro team demo by the original mid 80's tour team of Ron Wilkerson, Brian Blyther & Dave Nourie with guest appearances by Mike Dominguez, Craig Campbell & the godfather himself Bob Haro.
